Why this chapter
One rule sits underneath everything: be careful and considerate, so that no danger or damage arises. This chapter explains that basic rule and what it asks of the most exposed road user, the rules for lights and signalling on a motorcycle, position, meeting oncoming traffic and riding in queues – and stopping and parking. Without it the rest of the theory is a list of disconnected rules.
